Zoning Hearing Board Members Needed

Jermyn Borough is looking for interested residents to serve on the Zoning Hearing Board. We are currently in need of one member and two alternate members. The zoning hearing board meets as needed, sometimes twice per year, sometimes not at all. Alternate members are only required when regular board members cannot make a hearing. Zoning Hearings are required when:

— an applicant is denied a zoning permit

— an applicant requires a variance or special exception to zoning rules

If you are interested in serving Jermyn by becoming a member of the Zoning Hearing Board, please send an email to jermynborough@jermynpa.com

PA American Water to Begin Flushing Lines in Jermyn

A Note from PA American Water:

Pennsylvania American Water will begin routine flushing its water distribution system in your area Wednesday, May 27, 2020 thru Thursday, June 04, 2020 from 6 pm to 4 am to ensure that you continue to receive high-quality water service. Flushing also allows us to monitor and maintain fire hydrants. This work is essential for safe, reliable water service and is in coordination and compliance with all federal, state and local agencies and directives. When crews are working in your area, you may notice reduced pressure or discolored water. If your water is discolored, wait until it runs clear before using. This should typically take only a few minutes. For your safety and the safety of our employees, please do not approach our employees while they work. If you have a question, please call us at 1-800-565-7292. For more information, and a map of the affected area, log on to our website at www.pennsylvaniaamwater.com, and select Alert Notifications. Thank you.
