Jermyn Christmas Spirit Weekend

Come Celebrate the Season of Christmas in Jermyn

December 12, 2015 – Saturday Evening – 6:00 p.m.

The Annual Christmas Light Parade starts at 6:00 p.m.  The Parade will begin at Scout Corner (intersection of Route 107 & Washington Avenue) and then proceed down Washington Avenue to Gibson Street, turning  onto Gibson Street (1 block) and right onto Jefferson Avenue, ending at the Jermyn Community Center.  Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving in their sled from North Pole to greet all of Jermyn Citizens.  Free light refreshments will be served to all.  The parade is sponsored by the Jermyn/Mayfield Girl Scouts Troop #50440 and their leaders.  This year Girl Scout Miss Alyvia Mroczka has undertaken the organizing/planning of this year’s parade for her Girl Scout Silver Award.

December 13, 2015 – Sunday Afternoon – 3:00 p.m.

The Annual 23rd Christmas Concert will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Jermyn Community Center, 440 Jefferson Avenue, Jermyn, in the Evans Gym.  The arranger/producer Mrs. Patricia McMyne and director Mrs. Joyce Covaleski has announced this year’s theme is “Christmas Around the World”.  They noted, Lakeland Elementary students will also take part in the program, and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus with toys for all the boys and girls.  Pictures of the children with Santa and Mrs. Claus can be taken.  Free refreshments will be served following the concert.  The concert is sponsored by the Jermyn Events Committee.

Starting December 13th until December 28th – Christmas Light Contest

The Jermyn Events Committee is sponsoring a Jermyn Christmas Light Contest with prizes for the best 3 displays in Jermyn.  Winners will be announced after Dec. 28th.    1st place -100.00 certificates/cash)          2nd place – $50.00 (certificates/cash)   3rd place – $25.00 (certificate).     Rule:  The winner (previous year) cannot win first place for 3 years.
