The Jermyn Borough Council held a special meeting on September 27, 2017 at 8:15 p.m. at the Jermyn Community Center, 440 Jefferson Avenue, Jermyn, PA in the Council Chambers.

On roll call present were: Frank Kulick, Robert Parks, Dan Markey, Kevin Napoli, Joseph Smith and JoAnne Wilson. Also present were Atty. Moran. Absent were, John Mark.

LSA Grant:

Mr. Kulick said this meeting was called because they had a meeting with Senator Blake and his staff the other day in regards to the LSA grant and it was suggested they break it up into phases instead of putting in for the full amount of the project. The estimate for the first phase will be for the sewers and roads at the Woodlands $256,344.90. Mr. Kulick said we are not guaranteed we get this grant but it was pretty much said if we put in for the full amount, we would not get it. Mrs. Wilson said we are doing this in three phases so far but we are not guaranteed any of the phases. Mr. Markey said we never are with grants. Atty. Moran drafted a resolution to apply for the LSA grant. Mr. Kulick read aloud Resolution #13-17 requesting the amount of $256,344.90, for the first phase of sewer and road construction at the Woodlands Development. A motion was made by Mr. Smith and seconded by Mr. Napoli to accept Resolution $#13-17. Mr. Markey asked if the contingency amount should be listed in the resolution. Atty. Moran said contingency is usually understood. All in favor; motion carried.Mr. Markey made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:25pm. Seconded by Mr. Smith. All in favor; motion carried.
